Celebration Time

The Nadaam Festival is the largest traditional festival taking place today within Inner Mongolia (China). Known as the ‘three games of men’ it features Mongolian wrestling, horse racing and archery.

Many cultural events take place over Gion Matsuri in Japan but the most popular is the grand procession of floats that happens in the evening. 32 floats are paraded, some two-floors high and weighing up to 10 tons with a combination of music and performances taking place on them.

George Town World Heritage Day & George Town Festival take place in Malaysia. Penang celebrates the George Town Heritage Day with activities focusing mainly on Penang's unique heritage and traditions.

The Bali Kite Festival in Sanur (Indonesia) is in annual international kite festival held in the Padang Galak area of Sanur Beach, Bali. Traditionally, giant kites (4 meters in width and almost 10 meters in length) are made and flown competitively by teams from the villages (banjar) of Denpasar. The event is a seasonal religious festival intended to send a message to the Hindu Gods to create abundant crops and harvests.

Weather Patterns

The month of June in Indonesia is similar to the previous month with a peak in visitors. We recommend book your trip well in advance. Now is a good time to visit Malaysia, Central Vietnam and Tibet as temperatures are pleasant and the landscape is at its greenest.

The Gulf of Thailand (especially Koh Samui, Koh Tao and Koh Phangan) is extremely welcoming.

Southeast Asia and parts of China turn a vivid green as the sun shines following the rain. Waterfalls throughout Asia (especially 4000 Islands in Laos and the mountainous regions of Thailand) are at their most prolific.
