The road from Chiang Mai to Pai may have more curves than days in a year - 762 in total - but a unique outdoor cooking class at an organic nature farm offers a welcome stop along the way. In Pai, guests can cool off at Mok Fah Waterfall, explore the Tham Lod underground river and cave system, and enjoy a rejuvenating 30-minute mud facial. Known as the “city of three mists”, Mae Hong Son is the seat of the most mountainous province in Thailand and spoils visitors with views of sprawling mountain ranges and massive rice paddies. Here, guests can take a peaceful walk across the longest bamboo bridge of Thailand, which stretches for 500m across rice and garlic fields. With its remote setting, Burmese influences, and border-town feel, Mae Hong Son is a great starting point to visit the “Long Neck” Padaung village, interact with villagers during a hands-on brass bracelet-making workshop, and explore beautiful Shan-style temples.
